energetic earth crystalline nodes nodal gridI’ve been reading Tom Evans book we spoke about in the last interview which just recently came out. He pointed out that time in the Gregorian calendar is very much man made. We separate our time into years, months, minutes, seconds but if you took a more natural look at the world it moves in a slightly different way. Nature follows the larger scheme of things.

Four seasons, or as the Aborigines see it here in Australia, a cycle of 11 seasons when you want to take a higher point of view. Seasons which are broken into moon cycles which match a woman’s menstrual cycle. Then larger and larger cycles not only based on how we travel around the sun but, how our entire solar system travels around its own larger orbit around the galaxy.

I like to think of our planet a bit like a beach ball for this example. (Being full of air means it is less restricted by gravity like a basket ball might be.) It’s on a string attached to the sun which is the pivot point and if you throw it in one direction it spins around the pivot point but wobbles up and down as it revolves. (Not the perfect analogy but you get the idea.)

This wobble is what moves us above and below the orbit line moving us between winter and summer. The point on which the ball decides its moved far enough up and is now starting to head back down again is what we call Solstice. It results in the longest day of the year and then 6 months later the shortest day of the year.

From where I stand as a wee being perched on the surface of the beachball, its a significant turning point and one I could use to my advantage if I were paying attention. Its an opportunity to turn a corner or change direction myself in any area of life. To me, that would be far more powerful than setting a New Years Resolution.

I mean, let’s face it, how many times have you set a New Years Resolution and it’s faded away in a matter of weeks or months? The power of the change of direction has already had the puff taken out of it and although it is possible to change at any time of the year, it might be easier to do with the leveraged power of the larger movement moving our planet full force behind it. Sound fair?

So if you’re reading this as I post you can use it immediately. If you reading as a subscriber and picking it up a week later, that’s ok too. The sooner you change direction closer to the solstice the more you can take advantage of it.

What do you want to change?

Make a quick list of all areas of your life. Most people, when asked to do this come up with career, health and relationships but, there are more than you think. You’ll have your own areas in life you can add but these can get you started…

  • Health – physical body
  • Health – mental. Peace of mind, stress levels etc.
  • Wellbeing – happiness on a daily basis. Ease of laughter. Sense of fun.
  • Cashflow – regularity, seasonal, accessibility
  • Wealth – building of assets, security
  • Business – what you do for money. Career, run a business, projects
  • Hobbies – things you do for love and fun
  • Partner – sex life, romantic love or regular companion/s
  • Social life – quality of friendships, interaction, intellectual stimulation, networking
  • Family – relationships with those local or out of town
  • Residence – space you live in and those you live with
  • Neighbourhood – those who live around you
  • Community – your suburb and its inhabitants – people and animals
  • Spirituality – how in tune you are with your intuition, religion, wisdom of the world
  • Sensuality – how focussed you are with your 6 senses
  • Sexuality – who you are as a man/woman
  • Interests – what you’re passionate about that hasn’t yet been listed
  • Habits – those you want to develop or kick
  • Time management – productivity, work life balance, scheduled relaxation or “me” time
  • Creativity – expressing yourself, creating something new on a regular basis
  • Self development – developing new strategies and insights
  • Change management – coping with change, going with the flow

See what I mean? More than you think. Then narrow it down to 3 and ask yourself how you’d like the next 6 months to go if you could have anything you want. Make it bold but real. How would you prefer to be living on a daily basis in this area of life? What would it feel like?

Who would you be?

This is an important question. What personality traits would be different? How would you feel? How would you deal with people? How would they treat you in return? Again, keep it real and remember Karma is swift these days so you want to be putting out the most positive version of yourself to gain the maximum in return.

Reduce it down to a single sentence which encapsulates this new feeling and what will be happening by the time you get to the next solstice in 6 months time. Feel free to share your 3 sentences with me on the Facebook page.
