Christmas and holiday period stressThanksgiving, Christmas and the holiday period can traditionally be a tough, stressful period. There seems to be so much to get done. So much money required to please everyone. So many drinks that must be downed in the spirit of the season and yet we are still meant to look respectable in the morning…

You don’t have to fall victim to the craziness though.

Here’s a few end of year pointers from me:

  1. 2013 was full of challenges. Many people had a roller coaster of emotions, got lost and confused; forgot their ambitions, questioned how they live their life and what they do for work. Understand this is a NORMAL right now. The world is changing in a big way spiritually which I’ve been studying for some years now.

    You are not alone in these feelings. We are all going through them. Just nurture and care for yourself. Walk quietly amongst some trees, get plenty of sleep, pat a cat, extra vitamins and water, laugh, love, stretch … whatever will give you healthy comfort. This phase is only temporary so ride it out with the most ease you can create.

  2. The expectations people set up around Christmas and the holiday period of who you should see, how big a present you’re a meant to give and what you’re meant to say is changing dramatically. Even my own kids don’t care to have wrapped presents under the tree this year which surprised me.

    Use this time of year to SIMPLIFY. Skip the parties where you don’t think you’ll have a really great time. Focus on how grateful you can be to the friends and family who supported you this year and write them a letter instead of a gift. (I did this one year I couldn’t afford gifts and those letters are still valued ahead of any expensive presents to this day.)

  3. MOST IMPORTANT is to keep your mind in the present moment. Steer away from things that went wrong in the past or the worst case scenario of what might happen in the future. NOW is the only living moment. The only moment you’re actually alive. Don’t miss it!

    Stop to appreciate a sunny day, a snow covered tree, your favourite song, the smell of your favourite hot drink… The more you live in the present moment, the more you lower your stress and lower your resistance to all the good stuff you’ve been yearning for. (This is something most people miss in the Law of Attraction theory.)
